Mike received a B.S. degree in electrical engineering in 1986 and an M.S. degree in engineering management in 1994 from the University of South Florida. Early in his career, Mike held various engineering titles within the Substation and Transmission Engineering Groups at Florida Power & Light Co., Juno Beach, FL. In 1993, he was awarded the Southeastern Electric Exchange (SEE) Excellence in Engineering Award. In 1994, Mike joined the editorial team of Transmission & Distribution World magazine. During his five-year tenure, he helped steer the editorial mission of the magazine, interacted with key technical professionals in the utility industry, and launched and developed many new conference programs for the industry. Mike joined EC&M as Editor-in-Chief in September 1999. Under his guidance and leadership, EC&M was honored with more than 100 editorial awards and more recently achieved unprecedented growth on the digital front through its highly engaging newsletters and website content. Mike now serves as the Senior Director of Content for the Buildings brands within the Infrastructure Intelligence Group at Informa, where he provides overall editorial direction for five key brands in the mechanical, electrical and plumbing market sectors.
